Why do visions and missions evolve in companies and why is it important to revisit if you are in growth mode?
When you started your #business, you had an idea of:
- who you wanted to be
- who you wanted to serve
- how you were going to make money or
- make a large impact.
But as you launched, built, and grew, who you were when you first started is not normally who you have become.
It’s the nature of business. You live, you learn, and 9 out of 10 times you have to pivot to grow.
If you are in #growth mode, here are 3 reasons to revisit your vision and mission:
1. Alignment: As you grow, your aspirations, capabilities, and the market may change. It’s important to feel aligned to your vision and mission so that it pushes you further to grow vs. stay stagnant.
2. Inspiration: Your vision and mission should inspire you, your employees, your customers, prospects, and investors. It should be bigger than just revenue. It should truly encapsulate why you exist and where you are headed.
3. Growth: It is the guiding post for your growth #strategy. Re-visioning is a critical part of my #repositioning-to-scale methodology. Without clarity on where you want to head now, it will deter you from getting there.
